2017 Council of Members
The IAPB Council of Members is the annual, high-level policy summit dedicated to the elimination of the main causes of avoidable blindness and visual impairment. Held every year, the event brings together key decision makers from across the IAPB membership, as well as representatives from governments and the World Health Organization (WHO), to meet and discuss key issues in eye health.
The Council of Members 2017 will take place in Kathmandu, Nepal, on 17-18 September, preceded by the IAPB Work Groups, Committees, and Board meetings on 15-16 September.

Getting ready for 2017 COM
The ancient city of Kathmandu, Nepal is playing host to the Council this year. Our Travel pages will give you information on Nepal as a destination, visa requirements for Nepal and also delegate accommodation options and pre-/post-tours in and around Kathmandu.
We also list some flight options, entry points by land, and some basic tips to get you around the city.
Eye Health Heroes 2017
Sponsor the next generation of Eye Health Heroes
The Eye Health Heroes Initiative has been an opportunity to meet and celebrate some incredible individuals in our sector. Since 2013, we have honoured 83 “Eye Health Heroes”; pioneers and rising stars in their field within the eye health sector.
This year we encourage IAPB member organisations to nominate an Eye Health Hero from the South East Asia region. The Hero can be an employee or can be employed by one of your partners in the region. We are looking, as ever, for people whose work inspires us and whose commitment will propel them to leadership opportunities in the future.
If your organisation is interested in becoming involved with celebrating the next generation of rising stars from the eye health sector please get in touch.
